It’s been a while… Time for an update on our two films, my friends!
We Love Paleo
We Love Paleo, is STILL going strong since its release in January, 2016! You see, we might the impression that paleo or ancestral health is ”so 2015”. Everyone knows about it and no one cares to see a film showcasing the lifestyle…
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Every week I get yet another email from someone wondering if we’re working on subtitling the film in their language. Most of the time their enquiry stems from a growing concern for people in their community who are ”riddled” with lifestyle diseases and who direly need to become aware of ancestral health.
So I am pleased to let yo know that we are working on subtitling We Love Paleo in two additional languages thanks to passionate volunteers who want to give back to their fellow human beings.
If you are (or know) someone who would like to help subtitle the documentary in your native language or any language other than French, German, Spanish and Czech, simply use our contact form to get in touch!
We Love Paleo 2
We’ve decided to push back our crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. (Photo shown above.) That’s right: our new campaign launch date has yet to be determined.–We’re hoping sooner rather than later, though.
Whilst making an indie film is down right rewarding, it can also at times be a real b!tch; our team has decided to develop our core concepts a tad more before we go out and ask for our fans’ support. Make no mistake, however: just like our first film, this documentary sequel is definitely getting made and it will be a darn good one too!
Stay tuned regarding our campaign launch date: we will be needing our loyalest supporters to renew their faith in us by backing the second film.

Things are getting very exciting over here.
We’ve signed yet another deal, this time with a large US film distribution company called Gravitas Ventures. They’re one of the biggest out there and are a well-respected, well-known distribution company. If you’re in the know when it comes to distribution in the US, you’ve definitely heard that name!
So here’s how the story goes in a nutshell…
Rewind to December 2014.
I was looking at my emails at 4am… I know, I know, not very paleo but for some reason I had awaken and found nothing better to do than to check emails on my iphone. And there it was black on white: one of the high executives at Gravitas telling me how he had stumbled across our Berlin clip and was open to watch the final product. I seriously had to rub my eyes (it was 4 am after all) to check that the email was legit… because I had heard of Gravitas through filmmaking peer circles and here they were coming to us! So of course, we had a long chat a couple days later and it was agreed that we would stay in touch and submit the film to them once finished.
Fast forward to early August, 2015.
By now we’ve completed the film and sent it to GV for their perusal… and that’s it! They were still interested in getting We Love Paleo on their slate for a WORLDWIDE ONLINE RELEASE.
Now apart from being a cute little story, what does that have to do with you? A couple things actually. If you didn’t buy the film at early bird prices or if you have purchased your copy but would like all your loved ones to see the film, then you’ll be glad to know that it will be WIDELY available online on other platforms. Dates and specifics have yet to be discussed but we promise to keep everyone in the loop.
The other great thing is that GV has a total reach of over 1 BILLION houses everywhere around the world! Now that’s pretty impressive if you ask me. We might be able to achieve our dream of changing lives around the world with our documentary, after all.
And it doesn’t stop there: as our worldwide online distributor, they will be taking on the tedious task of getting the film translated in French, Italian and German. We were always going to do this aided by passionate volunteers, but having someone else handle the nitty gritty in its entirety will allow us to go on and create other documentary projects.
As always, make sure to watch this space for further great news and a firm release date for the film.
Have a great week-end!
With the buzz of the carnival outside, groups dancing and crowds smiling, we began our own celebration inside The Gate cinema in Notting Hill.
On August 31st, we had our World Premiere! Where we were joined by numerous Paleo bloggers, friends and some of our cast and crew. As the attendees arrived, the drinks began to flow (a big thank you to Jameson!) Although the foyer was small, the room began to fill and became crowded as more and more appeared. As you can see we were having a great time!
The time had come. We made our way into the huge cinema theatre, decked with red velvet seats, which held the screen behind the classic red curtain. All we needed now was an usher to hand out popcorn and ice cream. Everyone had taken there seats and the film was about to begin.
Unfortunately despite testing, we did have a few technical problems with the projection, over-exposure and shown at a different aspect ratio leaving some of the subtitles to be cut off, but the film was enjoyed all the same. After a lengthy applause, we kicked off our Q&A. Along with the Director and Co-producer, Caroleen Moise Reimann and Co-producer Tjard Reimann, the cast of the film also took to the stage, Irena Macri, Darryl Edwards and Mark & Pete Davis. Questions about the challenges, benefits and advice towards Paleo brought up a great discussion and why it is important for people to watch this documentary.
Here’s what people thought of the film:
“A truly superb documentary film. I absolutely loved it.” Richard Baggs, Primal Pantry
“A superb film.” Jill Gardner, Hate It Change It
“Excellent documentary detailing how a back-to-basic approach to health can holistically bring you back in tune against the current stem of epidemic health problems.” Jerry Dhillon, Evolution in Fitness
We would like to thank everyone who came to the premiere and to OurScreen and The Gate cinema that made it all possible. We all had a great night and was a good first-run of the film. We can’t wait to show the film to the rest of the world!

The past couple of weeks have been quite alright…
We’ve screened our film at Notting Hill’s 105 year-old cinema, The Gate, for the first time. Many people from the UK paleo community were there and it was quite nice to step out from behind a computer screen and meet people face-to-face! (There shall be a lengthier post about the event complete with photos coming very soon…)
What I want to talk to you about today is the fact that our lil’ doco was “picked up” by an Australian distribution company. That’s right: our team is proud to announce that we’ve signed a deal with Leap Frog Films and they will be setting-up and facilitating theatrical screenings all around Australia in partnership with Tugg Australia and distributing the film in DVD later on and more! To be honest, it’s quite validating to have peers or industry decision makers come forward saying that they’re interested in working with you! Especially when your their company slogan is “Good stories, well told, with heart and substance.” Moreoveer, Leap Frog’s small team have a combined experience in the film industry of over 45 years.
What does this means in terms of actually showing the film to an audience? Well, for starters a cinema owner came forward and asked to host a couple indie films including ours; our first screening in Brisbane at the end of this month and hopefully many more by end of 2015.
We promise to keep you abreast of all further developments. From the emails we receive, we know you are very eager to see the film… So Australia here we come: it’s now time to rally the cinema-going troops and get people in front of We Love Paleo!
Until then, stay well.
