Pictured above (on the set of We Love Paleo 2) is Bobby Gill who works for the Savory Institute, and today we’d like to share with you a worthy article presenting the benefits of the Savory Institute’s system.
This article is of utter importance to us because it is one of the fundamental point we shall cover in We Love Paleo 2.
Savory’s mission “to promote large-scale restoration of the world’s grasslands through holistic management” brings forth the notion that the best thing for nature–and us–is to have animals such as cattle grazing the land therefore eating what they were meant to eat and moving like they were meant to move (much like ancient hordes).
With its focus on whole, unprocessed, natural–and whenever possible organic–foods, the ancestral health movement ties in directly with holistic management.
Sure, you don’t have to be paleo to support regenerative agriculture but you would be hard-pressed to find a paleoterian who doesn’t support holistic land management! Case in point: the revival of grass-fed beef spearheaded by the ancestral community.
We know the ancestral movement is pro-Earth (and not at all destructive like some groups would like us to believe) which is why we decided to focus on meat sustainability and regeneration in We Love Paleo 2.
If you want to find out more about the Savory Institute and the good they do in this world (and donate), go here.

Today, we’re really happy to let you know that you can now watch our film subtitled in Portuguese.
This brings the number of foreign language subtitling to an awesome total of five:
- and now… Portuguese! (Simply select Portuguese in the drop down menu, bottom right)
AGAIN, this is thanks to the generosity of time and energy from our amazing audience… people like YOU who have come forward to help us out with raising the world’s awareness about diet and health. This time around we have Hilton, from Paleodiario.com, a blog dedicated to the lifestyle that has seen a ton of people take control of their health and turn things around! We’re forever grateful to these guys!
Check them out: paleodiario.com
Whenever we add subtitles for yet a new foreign language we are become beyond hopeful that some day soon, people around the globe will know about paleo… because whilst it’s now mainstream in North America, this is NOT the case in some other parts of the world. People still wonder what it is, confuse the dietary aspects of it with vegetarianism (or worse veganism). So we know we still have much work to do in the way of exposing people to a way of life that goes against conventional health wisdom, a way that does not involve manmade foods.
Help us help more people: if you or someone you know wants to translate the film on a voluntary basis, by all means, please contact us here.

Caroleen, Indie filmmaker
Today, we’re proud to introduce you to must-watch award winning feature documentary, An Acquired Taste.
Oh, and another cool thing about this excellent film? It was produced and directed by talented Vanessa Lemaire who’s also co-producing We Love Paleo 2.
The film is about twelve-year old, Nick, Alex and Ashlie, who leave behind their modern lives and embark on a journey that is foreign to their parents. The Paleo food movement is growing across America. The teens belong to a young generation of mindful meat-eaters, who turns to hunting for the ultimate protein, as a more humane and ecological alternative to factory-farms. To make a humane kill, these animal lovers confront tormenting ethics and their worst nightmares, partly to eat dinner, and partly to carve out their own identities in a world increasingly at odds with reality and nature.
In this lyrical character-driven documentary, you will satisfy our everlasting curiosity on what connects us with the natural world, with our food and our primal heritage as human beings.
An Acquired Taste will see its national online premiere happen on November 1 this year after a successful festival run… but you can readily pre order your download and you will also receive the Director’s Cut + the official poster with your purchase.
Yours in optimal health,
The WLP team

Hi Folks, Caroleen here.
Wow, January and February are already well behind us! Where did the time go?
We hope you’re doing well so far and that everyone’s year started with a positive BANG!
Ours certainly started very well with our distribution of We Love Paleo in French, German and Spanish since January 01.01.2016!
So spread the word and share with your French, German and Spanish speaking friends so they too can learn about Paleo and start turning their lives around!
And rest assure that we’ll be updating you with more news on the film and insights from the paleo community… so stay tuned guys.
I personally hate it when I don’t get a fair warning. Like when you go to the store and they tell you that the 30% discount on your favorite brand of raw coconut oil “ended yesterday”. Right?
Some would say you snooze you lose but we like to think that people are busy and have lots of stuff to take care of and might forget about yet important things to do.
Like getting their copy of We Love Paleo before the price goes up (because it will definitely go up) on January 1 2016—date at which our US distributor launches the film online, worldwide. (NOTE: If you were one of our Indiegogo backers, please know that on November 2, we emailed you a link to watch the film ahead of the release date.)
Therefore, as of 01.01.2016 We Love Paleo will be released worldwide under LOVE PALEO.
We talked about our slight name change in another post and we think the ”new” name remains recognisable enough for our fans and general audience to make the connection! Besides, our website, online shop, social media pages and IMDB profile will still show up as We Love Paleo and will not be affected by the change.
Come New Year’s day the film will be available on all the following platforms:
Movies YouTube (transactional),
And that’s just the start of it. Talk about bringing paleo to the world!
So we hope you take advantage of this “heads up” to go and get your copy on our shop before we put the prices up (which are still being discussed with our partners).
We’ll keep you informed regarding language subtitling (French, German and Spanish are currently in the works) so that you can share with your non-English speaking networks around the globe.
Until then, stay fit and healthy!
Caroleen and the We Love Paleo team
Things are getting very exciting over here.
We’ve signed yet another deal, this time with a large US film distribution company called Gravitas Ventures. They’re one of the biggest out there and are a well-respected, well-known distribution company. If you’re in the know when it comes to distribution in the US, you’ve definitely heard that name!
So here’s how the story goes in a nutshell…
Rewind to December 2014.
I was looking at my emails at 4am… I know, I know, not very paleo but for some reason I had awaken and found nothing better to do than to check emails on my iphone. And there it was black on white: one of the high executives at Gravitas telling me how he had stumbled across our Berlin clip and was open to watch the final product. I seriously had to rub my eyes (it was 4 am after all) to check that the email was legit… because I had heard of Gravitas through filmmaking peer circles and here they were coming to us! So of course, we had a long chat a couple days later and it was agreed that we would stay in touch and submit the film to them once finished.
Fast forward to early August, 2015.
By now we’ve completed the film and sent it to GV for their perusal… and that’s it! They were still interested in getting We Love Paleo on their slate for a WORLDWIDE ONLINE RELEASE.
Now apart from being a cute little story, what does that have to do with you? A couple things actually. If you didn’t buy the film at early bird prices or if you have purchased your copy but would like all your loved ones to see the film, then you’ll be glad to know that it will be WIDELY available online on other platforms. Dates and specifics have yet to be discussed but we promise to keep everyone in the loop.
The other great thing is that GV has a total reach of over 1 BILLION houses everywhere around the world! Now that’s pretty impressive if you ask me. We might be able to achieve our dream of changing lives around the world with our documentary, after all.
And it doesn’t stop there: as our worldwide online distributor, they will be taking on the tedious task of getting the film translated in French, Italian and German. We were always going to do this aided by passionate volunteers, but having someone else handle the nitty gritty in its entirety will allow us to go on and create other documentary projects.
As always, make sure to watch this space for further great news and a firm release date for the film.
Have a great week-end!
What can I say… we’re suckers for the cool things our people create! Heck, there’s a reason why they made it in WLP: they are awesome, successful proponent of the paleo lifestyle and the community loves their stuff!
In this case, we’re talking about Darryl Edwards’ brand spanking new, Paleo from A to Z. I find the book very useful–there was definitely a gap in the market for such product–I mean how do you explain what ghrelin is to uncle Burt who wants to know what blood “gremlin” is and why he should even care?!
First the design: I’m sorry but who ever said “don’t judge a book by its cover” obviously lived in another era! I mean, that’s all that counts nowadays! If the cover sucks we often think the content will too… because why wouldn’t you have a catchy, sexy cover in this day and age of photoshop and HD stock photography, right?
Luckily Darryl’s book cover is quite simple, playful yet shockingly appealing: the duck tape concept just works. There’s also something about crisp-white sheets of paper… (Or maybe it’s just me.)
When it comes to its layout, again the book is quite straight forward since it’s a dictionary. What I found really good was the fact that whilst the content hasn’t been dumbed down, it definitely hasn’t been made out to be so complex and elaborate that it can only be understood by someone holding a PhD. This was obviously what Darryl was going for here: mass accessibility. Still, it is worth noting that he has achieved somewhat of a feat here: vulgarizing language that is more often than not complicated and rooted in academia, chemistry and medicine. One only needs to go to the “Resources” section (page 301) to see what humongous task creating this book would have represented for Edwards.
Overall the book covers reasonably well all of the terminologies commonly used by people adhering to the lifestyle and is yet another tool (just like this cool little documentary about paleo coming out soon-wink wink), that can be used to educate ourselves and loved ones about human health.
