Don’t Miss Award-Winning Film, An Acquired Taste, Produced & Directer by our Very Own, Vanessa Lemaire

Today, we’re proud to introduce you to must-watch award winning feature documentary, An Acquired Taste.

Oh, and another cool thing about this excellent film? It was produced and directed by talented Vanessa Lemaire who’s also co-producing We Love Paleo 2.

Pre order your download and bonuses now

The film is about twelve-year old, Nick, Alex and Ashlie, who leave behind their modern lives and embark on a journey that is foreign to their parents. The Paleo food movement is growing across America. The teens belong to a young generation of mindful meat-eaters, who turns to hunting for the ultimate protein, as a more humane and ecological alternative to factory-farmsTo make a humane kill, these animal lovers confront tormenting ethics and their worst nightmares, partly to eat dinner, and partly to carve out their own identities in a world increasingly at odds with reality and nature.

In this lyrical character-driven documentary, you will satisfy our everlasting curiosity on what connects us with the natural world, with our food and our primal heritage as human beings.

An Acquired Taste will see its national online premiere happen on November 1 this year after a successful festival run… but you can readily pre order your download and you will also receive the Director’s Cut + the official poster with your purchase.

Hello Everyone,

14 months into the release of our film, we continue to keep our promise of widening our offering and making sure as many people as possible see our movie… Which is why  you no longer need to have an iTunes account to watch our film subtitled in Spanish.

That’s right; If you or someone you know was turned off by the idea of having to create an iTunes account for the Mexican iTunes store… well now you can enjoy it straight from our online shop.

Despite our limited resources our team managed to convert an unsupported initial file format into the supported .srt needed on VHX.tv’s platform. This means that anyone anywhere in the world can simply select Spanish subtitles (see the image above) at the start of the movie.–Because making this film available for as many non-native speakers as possible is part of our mission.

French and German subtitles are soon to follow. We will let you know when this happens.

Watch the film with Spanish subtitles on VHX —Y seleccione “Español ” en la lista de idiomas para subtítulos.

Or...

Watch the film from iTunes in Spanish, French or German here.

Cheers,

The WLP team

Hi Folks, Caroleen here.

Wow, January  and February are already well behind us! Where did the time go?

We hope you’re doing well so far and that everyone’s year started with a positive BANG!

Ours certainly started very well with our distribution of We Love Paleo in French, German and Spanish since January 01.01.2016!

As a matter a fact, you can now go to the following shops to buy sub-titled in these languages:
in FRENCH on iTunes FRANCE
in GERMAN on iTunes GERMANY
in SPANISH on iTunes MEXICO

So spread the word and share with your French, German and Spanish speaking friends so they too can learn about Paleo and start turning their lives around!

And rest assure that we’ll be updating you with more news on the film and insights from the paleo community… so stay tuned guys.

Very LAST chance for early birds prices!

Caroleen here.

I personally hate it when I don’t get a fair warning. Like when you go to the store and they tell you that the 30% discount on your favorite brand of raw coconut oil “ended yesterday”. Right?

Some would say you snooze you lose but we like to think that people are busy and have lots of stuff to take care of and might forget about yet important things to do.

Like getting their copy of We Love Paleo before the price goes up (because it will definitely go up) on January 1 2016—date at which our US distributor launches the film online, worldwide. (NOTE: If you were one of our Indiegogo backers, please know that on November 2, we emailed you a link to watch the film ahead of the release date.)

Therefore, as of 01.01.2016 We Love Paleo will be released worldwide under LOVE PALEO.

We talked about our slight name change in another post and we think the ”new” name remains recognisable enough for our fans and general audience to make the connection! Besides, our website, online shop, social media pages and IMDB profile will still show up as We Love Paleo and will not be affected by the change.

Come New Year’s day the film will be available on all the following platforms:
iTunes
Amazon
Google Play,
Vudu
Microsoft
Movies YouTube (transactional),
DirectTV
Verizon FiOS
Charter
Cox
Dish
Suddenlink
Rogers (Canada)
Eastlink (Canada)
Shaw (Canada)
WOW
Mediacom…

And that’s just the start of it. Talk about bringing paleo to the world!

So we hope you take advantage of this “heads up” to go and get your copy on our shop before we put the prices up (which are still being discussed with our partners).

We’ll keep you informed regarding language subtitling (French, German and Spanish are currently in the works) so that you can share with your non-English speaking networks around the globe.

Until then, stay fit and healthy!

WLP announces a SECOND signed distribution deal!

Gravitas_Ventures_logoThings are getting very exciting over here.

We’ve signed yet another deal, this time with a large US film distribution company called Gravitas Ventures. They’re one of the biggest out there and are a well-respected, well-known distribution company. If you’re in the know when it comes to distribution in the US, you’ve definitely heard that name!

So here’s how the story goes in a nutshell…

Rewind to December 2014.

I was looking at my emails at 4am… I know, I know, not very paleo but for some reason I had awaken and found nothing better to do than to check emails on my iphone. And there it was black on white: one of the high executives at Gravitas telling me how he had stumbled across our Berlin clip and was open to watch the final product. I seriously had to rub my eyes (it was 4 am after all) to check that the email was legit… because I had heard of Gravitas through filmmaking peer circles and here they were coming to us! So of course, we had a long chat a couple days later and it was agreed that we would stay in touch and submit the film to them once finished.

Fast forward to early August, 2015.

By now we’ve completed the film and sent it to GV for their perusal… and that’s it! They were still interested in getting We Love Paleo on their slate for a WORLDWIDE ONLINE RELEASE.

Now apart from being a cute little story, what does that have to do with you?  A couple things actually. If you didn’t buy the film at early bird prices or if you have purchased your copy but would like all your loved ones to see the film, then you’ll be glad to know that it will be WIDELY available online on other platforms. Dates and specifics have yet to be discussed but we promise to keep everyone in the loop.

The other great thing is that GV has a total reach of over 1 BILLION houses everywhere around the world! Now that’s pretty impressive if you ask me. We might be able to achieve our dream of changing lives around the world with our documentary, after all.

And it doesn’t stop there: as our worldwide online distributor, they will be taking on the tedious task of getting the film translated in French, Italian and German. We were always going to do this aided by passionate volunteers, but having someone else handle the nitty gritty in its entirety will allow us to go on and create other documentary projects.

As always, make sure to watch this space for further great news and a firm release date for the film.

Have a great week-end!

An Absolute MUST-HAVE Book

bookcover_edwards

Hi guys!

Caroleen here.

What can I say… we’re suckers for the cool things our people create! Heck, there’s a reason why they made it in WLP: they are awesome, successful proponent of the paleo lifestyle and the community loves their stuff!

In this case, we’re talking about Darryl Edwards’ brand spanking new, Paleo from A to Z. I find the book very useful–there was definitely a gap in the market for such product–I mean how do you explain what ghrelin is to uncle Burt who wants to know what blood “gremlin” is and why he should even care?!

First the design: I’m sorry but who ever said “don’t judge a book by its cover” obviously lived in another era! I mean, that’s all that counts nowadays! If the cover sucks we often think the content will too… because why wouldn’t you have a catchy, sexy cover in this day and age of photoshop and HD stock photography, right?

Luckily Darryl’s book cover is quite simple, playful yet shockingly appealing: the duck tape concept just works.  There’s also something about crisp-white sheets of paper… (Or maybe it’s just me.)

When it comes to its layout, again the book is quite straight forward since it’s a dictionary. What I found really good was the fact that whilst the content hasn’t been dumbed down, it definitely hasn’t been made out to be so complex and elaborate that it can only be understood by someone holding a PhD. This was obviously what Darryl was going for here: mass accessibility. Still, it is worth noting that he has achieved somewhat of a feat here: vulgarizing language that is more often than not complicated and rooted in academia, chemistry and medicine. One only needs to go to the “Resources” section (page 301) to see what humongous task creating this book would have represented for Edwards.

Overall the book covers reasonably well all of the terminologies commonly used by people adhering to the lifestyle and is yet another tool (just like this cool little documentary about paleo coming out soon-wink wink), that can be used to educate ourselves and loved ones about human health.

The product description on www.paleofromatoz.com

The book consists of over 500 topics using jargon-free language and aims to dispel the misinformation that surrounds health and nutrition. The listings are set out in an easy-to-use A-Z format using a simple cross-referencing system linked to related topics. In this book you will learn:

  • The foods to eat and avoid that allow you to enjoy better health.
  • How to decipher acronyms such as HIITVLDLRCTBPA and AIP.
  • Simple tips to improve sleep, reduce stress and regain vitality.
  • How to better understand concepts such as blood tests, the role of inflammation and disease, hormones, and epigenetics.
  • How to make sense of the other choices that contribute to wellbeing – such as the toxic chemicals you should avoid in your food, on your skin and in your home.
I for one am particularly pleased to see the concept of epigenetics steadily making its way into the mainstream.
There’s another exciting thing about The Fitness Explorer’s new book: it’s being translated into German, Spanish and Italian and those versions will be released by the end of this year.–This will no doubt fill the global need for such a reference book.
For now, Paleo from A to Z is available in English on Amazon as an digital or printed book and all these various sites, so go get your copy now!
Have a great week-end everyone,
Caroleen

Newly signed distribution deal with Leap Frog Films!

Screen Shot 2015-09-10 at 12.31.54

The past couple of weeks have been quite alright…

We’ve screened our film at Notting Hill’s 105 year-old cinema, The Gate, for the first time. Many people from the UK paleo community were there and it was quite nice to step out from behind a computer screen and meet people face-to-face! (There shall be a lengthier post about the event complete with photos coming very soon…)

What I want to talk to you about today is the fact that our lil’ doco was “picked up” by an Australian distribution company. That’s right: our team is proud to announce that we’ve signed a deal with Leap Frog Films and they will be setting-up and facilitating theatrical screenings all around Australia in partnership with Tugg Australia and distributing the film in DVD later on and more! To be honest, it’s quite validating to have peers or industry decision makers come forward saying that they’re interested in working with you! Especially when your their company slogan is “Good stories, well told, with heart and substance.” Moreoveer, Leap Frog’s small team have a combined experience in the film industry of over 45 years.

What does this means in terms of actually showing the film to an audience? Well, for starters a cinema owner came forward and asked to host a couple indie films including ours; our first screening in Brisbane at the end of this month and hopefully many more by end of 2015.

We promise to keep you abreast of all further developments. From the emails we receive, we know you are very eager to see the film… So Australia here we come: it’s now time to rally the cinema-going troops and get people in front of We Love Paleo!

Until then, stay well.
